Christine (Hart) Arbour

Christine Arbour was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Eastern Michigan University. She is pursuing her PhD in chemistry with a concentration in organic chemistry, and her goal is to become an expert in organic synthesis. in In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, and cooking.

Thilini Kondasinghe

Thilini was born and raised in Sri Lanka. She received her Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She is interested in exploring bioorganic chemistry, and in her free time, traveling around the world to experience its beauty. …and she is awesome!

Alberto Lopez

Alberto grew up in Ecorse, Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Al is currently working on natural product synthesis and hopes to one day design a synthesis for a pharmaceutically relevant product. When he is not in the lab, Al loves being physically active, being outdoors, sightseeing in the city, and watching the Detroit Lions. He can draw a mean cyclohexane chair conformation.

Hasina Saraha

Hasina was born and raised way, way “down river” in Ann Arbor; she is enjoying the Detroit scene. While in the Stockdill lab, she hopes to gain proficiency in organic synthesis while working on her main project which is focused on the strategies for the synthesis and folding of disulfide rich proteins. During her time out of the books and lab, Hasina is interested in hanging out with friends (at Meijer), seeing the light of day, catching up on much needed sleep, and visiting different Detroit attractions.

HANS copy

Hansamali Sirinimal

Hans was born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She obtained her special Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the university of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is pursuing her P. hD in Organic chemistry in Stockdill lab and has been working on aminyl radical cyclizations and a lantibiotic synthesis. She is in interested in engaging in highly impactful research related to natural product synthesis, medicinal chemistry and new avenues of methodology development. Her goal is to become a highly skillful organic chemist and to make contributions to resolve prevailing issues in the field. During her leisure time she likes to enjoy and travel around the world with friends and family, read, experiment with cooking and practice buddhism (not easy!) and of course to sit somewhere quiet with a coffee in her hands enjoying the scenery!

Dripta De Joarder, PhD 2014, University of Alabama, Michael Jennings Group, Currently at U. Calcutta, Maiti Group

Ahmad Ibrahim, PhD 2011, Oakland University, Nessan Kerrigan Lab

Ahmad Ibrahim was born and raised in Lebanon, he obtained his Master’s degree of Science in chemistry in 2005 at the Lebanese University Faculty of Sciences Beirut, Lebanon. Then he moved to Michigan where he joined Kerrigan’s group in 2006 at Oakland University and completed his PhD in 2011. His research towards his thesis focused on the asymmetric synthesis of β-lactones through Lewis base (phosphines or alkaloids) catalyzed formal [2+2] cycloaddition of ketenes and aldehydes, and through homo and heterodimerizations of ketenes. In the Stockdill Lab, he works tirelessly to… make it happen!  (Mmmm Hmmm)
